The Energy Week is a high-level event in the energy sector in Latin America and the Caribbean, where experiences and knowledge are shared, and a space for contact and dialogue between public and private actors in the sector is established. The IX edition will be held from October 28 to November 1, 2024, in Asunción - Paraguay. Leaders will meet to promote the regional energy sector.
What is this event looking for?
The IX Energy Week promotes collaboration between governments, companies, academia and international agencies to innovate and promote equity in the energy sector. Key topics include renewable energy, transitions 2.0, gender equality and energy adaptation. Representatives of the 27 OLADE Member Countries and leading representatives of the public and private energy sector will participate in this event.
Previous editions
The previous eight editions brought together leading energy sector experts from Latin America and the Caribbean, along with world-renowned specialists. They managed to create a meeting space between the regional public sector and key actors of the private sector. The eighth edition attracted 3461 participants, 247 speakers and more than 54 energy-focused events in the region within the global context.

IX ENERGY WEEK
The IX edition of the Energy Week will be a space for the exchange of experiences and knowledge, as well as a suitable setting for high-level meetings between decision-makers and public policy makers, the private sector, academia and all actors in the regional and global energy sector.
The event will address the following topics in depth:
– Innovation in the energy sector: next generation fuels, regional advances in innovation, energy storage solutions, etc.-
Gender equity in the energy
sector- Women’s access to STEM-
“Last mile” – universal access to modern energy in the region.
-Energy efficiency goals and policy and plans progress
– Sustainable mobility in the region
– Adaptation of energy infrastructure to climate change
– Policies and regulations for transitions 2.0
– Decarbonization of demand
– Among others.
In addition, the following will take place:
– OLADE Council of Experts- LIV
OLADE Meeting of Ministers
– II Business Council
These and other topics will bring together the most prominent regional and global panelists.
What is this event looking for?
- Lay the groundwork for analysis of the global landscape and how regional and national actors foresee energy development in the short, medium and long term
• Create spaces for exchange and multi-stakeholder dialogue
• Create a framework conducive to establishing agreements and business
• Promote public/private participation in the discussion of energy progress in Latin America and the Caribbean
