Yuri Schmitke A. Belchior Tisi is Executive President of the Brazilian Association for Waste-to-Energy (ABREN), Vice President for Latin America at the Global Waste to Energy Research and Technology Council (WtERT), and Partner at FCR Law, where he leads the Energy, Waste, and Biomethane practice. His work focuses on advancing sustainable energy transitions in Brazil and Latin America, with expertise spanning energy regulation, waste-to-energy policies, and biomethane markets. Previously, he served as Project Manager of the European Union Climate Dialogues (EUCD) in 2024, coordinating initiatives on sustainable biogas and biomethane production. He currently acts as Team Leader of EUCD2 for the Brazilian delegation’s Knowledge Visit to the European Biomethane Week 2025 in Brussels. Yuri holds a Bachelor of Law, a Postgraduate degree in Electric Energy Law, and a Master’s in Law and Public Policy, all from UniCEUB. He is also certified by the International Solid Waste Association (ISWA) as an International Waste Manager.
