Exploring Opportunities for European Union and LAC Methane Mitigation Convergence

Session information

This session will present preliminary findings from a comparative study on methane emissions in the energy, agriculture, and waste sectors across six Latin American countries, supported by the European Union. Discussions will highlight opportunities for sectoral mitigation, regulatory convergence, and EU–LAC cooperation, drawing on best practices and innovative approaches already emerging in the region. Bringing together policymakers, industry leaders, and technical experts, the dialogue will explore practical steps to strengthen monitoring systems, align regulatory frameworks, and mobilise investment, providing a platform to inform future joint action on methane reduction.
