Marco Jano is Deputy Director of Research at the Institute for Development, Energy and Environment (IDEA) in Mexico, where he leads projects and research programs. He has over 15 years of experience in decarbonization, energy, industry, economics, and public policy.
He has served as a Research Fellow at the Net Zero Innovation Institute at Cardiff University and previously worked with the Mario Molina Center and the Mexico Climate Initiative. He has also taught at the Faculty of Chemistry of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM).
Marco holds a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering and studies in Economics from UNAM; a Master’s in Chemical Engineering from Imperial College London; and a Ph.D. in Territorial Economics with a focus on energy systems and policy from the University of Cambridge.
