Marcelo Mena is the CEO of the Global Methane Hub, an international initiative dedicated to reducing methane emissions by promoting collaboration between governments, non-governmental organisations, the private sector and other stakeholders in sectors, such as agriculture, waste, oil and gas.
He was Chile’s Minister of Environment, professor at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso, and Practice Manager at the World Bank, where he led the team that created the Coalition of Finance Ministers for Climate Action.
A biochemical engineer, Mena holds an M.S. and PhD in Environmental Engineering from the University of Iowa and has been honoured by UNEP, National Geographic, Oceans Unite, NASA and the U.S. EPA.
