Javier Rodríguez is an Zootehcnician from La Salle University, a specialist in Sustainable Tropical Agricultural Production, and a Master’s student in Sustainable Tropical Agricultural Production at the University of Los Llanos. As a researcher, consultant, and lecturer, his work focuses on the design and implementation of strategies that promote low-carbon transitions, climate change adaptation, and ecosystem conservation, while also driving the adoption of sustainable technologies and practices among producers.
He has coordinated projects such as the Colombian Sustainable Livestock Project and has served as Regional Coordinator and Private Sector Lead in the Orinoquía Biocarbon Project (Ministry of Agriculture – World Bank), bringing together public and private actors in sustainable land-use planning and value chain transformation. In addition, he works as a consultant for institutions such as the Government of Meta, Cormacarena, the Administrative and Planning Region of the Llanos (RAP Llanos), and international organizations such as The Nature Conservancy (TNC). He currently serves as Technical Secretary of the Orinoquía Sustainable Pact. Alongside his institutional and consulting work, Javier is a lecturer at the University of Los Llanos and a livestock producer in the Altillanura, where he develops sustainable production models, promotes the conservation of native breeds, and advances the establishment of a Civil Society Natural Reserve in San Martín (Meta).
