Ricardo Gustavo Michel Romero is an Economist specialized in Economic Relations and International Business. He holds a Master’s degree in Political Science and International Relations with a specialization in Diplomacy and Conflict Resolution from the Catholic University of Louvain (Belgium), a Master’s degree in Industrial Economics with a focus on the Energy Sector and Technology from the Carlos III University of Madrid (Spain), and a Master’s in International Business from the University of Barcelona and the Andean University Simón Bolívar. He also completed a specialization in Trade and Business at the Kommercekollegium in Sweden.
He has extensive experience in negotiation, strategic project planning and management. In addition, he has strong knowledge in international trade, regional integration, negotiation, conflict resolution, and market opportunities in the Latin American region.
He served as Vice Minister of Hydrocarbons Exploration and Exploitation at the Ministry of Hydrocarbons and Energy, and as an energy sector specialist in the Economic and Social Policy Unit at the Ministry of Planning of Bolivia. He currently serves as Advisor to the Office of the Secretary of the Latin American and Caribbean Economic System (SELA), and is in charge of the Coordination on Digitalization, Infrastructure, and Energy.
