Electrical Engineer graduated from the Federal University of Itajubá (UNIFEI) in 1977, with specializations in Management from FIA/USP, Harvard – Eletrobras Mind Quest, Fundação Dom Cabral, and Instituto Cristiano Otoni.
He began his career at Eletrobras Eletronorte, where he worked from 1977 to 2013, holding various managerial positions in the areas of Operation, Maintenance, Commissioning, Projects, Planning Studies, and Business Development.
In the public sector, he served as Director of Energy Policy at the Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME) between 1999 and 2000, and held the positions of Director of Commercialization and President of the Brazilian Electric Power Company (CBEE) between 2001 and 2002.
Since 2014, he has been the Executive President of the Brazilian Association of Electric Energy Transmission Companies (ABRATE), and since 2021, he has also served as CEO of the ABRATE Institute of Energy. He has been a member of the Advisory Council of the Energy Research Company (EPE) since 2015.
He has received several honors, including: the title of Commander of the Order of Rio Branco, awarded by the Presidency of the Republic in 2002; the AD-UNIFEI Commendation, in celebration of the institution’s centennial in 2023; and the "100 Most Influential Personalities in the Energy Efficiency Sector" Trophy.
