Guillermo Areas is responsible for Government Relations and External Affairs for Latin America and the Caribbean at BMW Group. He has previously held managerial positions at renowned companies such as Bayer and DHL. One of his key focus areas is engaging with government, institutions, and civil society to promote and develop cooperation between the public and private sectors. His responsibilities also include advocating for favorable conditions for the adoption of electric vehicles and promoting emerging technologies such as hydrogen-based transportation.
Guillermo is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Trust for the Americas and a member of the BMW Foundation Responsible Leaders Network. He holds an MBA from Thunderbird School of Global Management, a bachelor's degree in International Relations from Florida International University, and an Associate Degree in Political Science from Miami Dade College.
