Felipe Riveros is the Grid Code Expert Engineer for Latin America at Huawei, with over three years of experience leading and participating in R&D projects in the energy industry, focused on renewable integration and storage solutions. One of the most relevant projects was the development of a real-time tool to monitor the security and stability of the Chilean Electrical Power System (Sistema Eléctrico Nacional), which will be implemented in the Chilean Independent System Operator (Coordinador Eléctrico Nacional), in response to the high penetration of IBRs currently present in the country. He served as an expert engineer in the modification of the Technical Standard for Security and Quality of Service for the Chilean National Energy Commission. His contributions included the incorporation of new requirements for IBRs operating in both GFM and GFL modes, as well as grid strength criteria. His expertise lies in the technical analysis of renewable energy integration, Battery Energy Storage Systems, and GFM technologies, bringing a strong technical foundation to the design of robust solutions for modern power systems.
