Erick Tejada holds a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering and currently works to build an energy sector that brings social justice to the people of Honduras and development to his country. Before taking on the role of Secretary of Energy, he served as a research professor in areas such as thermodynamics for engineers, biomass, and biofuels, as well as an independent consultant on topics including solid waste management, air pollutant control, and quality management. Tejada has published research articles in indexed journals on topics related to soil remediation, biomass conversion, bioenergy, biofuels, and biorefineries. He has also participated as an invited speaker at international conferences in Mexico, Chile, and Argentina. In addition to leading the Ministry of Energy, he currently serves as the interim manager of the National Electric Energy Company (ENEE) of Honduras.
