Christian Asinelli is the Corporate Vice President of Strategic Planning at CAF – the development bank for Latin America and the Caribbean. In this role, he leads the institution’s strategy on sovereign financing, technical assistance, and knowledge generation and dissemination, with a focus on environmental sustainability, gender, inclusion and diversity, physical and digital infrastructure, social development, and urban development. He also oversees the engagement agenda with member countries and the incorporation of new members.

Previously, he served as Undersecretary of International Financial Relations for Development at Argentina’s Secretariat of Strategic Affairs; President of Fundación Banco Ciudad; Director of Institutional Development at CAF; and Undersecretary for Project Evaluation with External Financing. He was also a legislator in the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires and Alternate National Director of the State Modernization Project.

He is the author of several publications, including Keys for the Development of Latin America and the Caribbean: Collective Action, Capabilities, and Integration for Growth, Financing Development: The Role of Multilateral Banks in Latin America, Modernization of the Argentine State: Policies, Management, and Professional Scenario, and Buenos Aires: The City We Have, the City We Want.
