Bárbara Nagel A. holds a degree in Industrial Civil Engineering from Universidad Diego Portales and a Master of Science in Engineering Management from San José State University, California, USA. She is currently Head of the Office of Strategic Alliances and International Relations at the Chilean Nuclear Energy Commission (CCHEN).
Ms. Nagel has an outstanding career in Chile’s nuclear sector, with more than 15 years of experience at the Chilean Nuclear Energy Commission, where she has led multidisciplinary teams in strategic areas, applied research, and international relations.
She previously headed the Office of Strategic Development and Nuclear Power, where she was responsible for directing studies to evaluate the requirements and implications of implementing a nuclear power program in Chile, in coordination with the Ministry of Energy. She has also represented Chile before the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), participating in international technical cooperation projects focused on nuclear power plant infrastructure and nuclear program financing.
Her experience combines a solid understanding of the Chilean public sector with a forward-looking international perspective, having also worked in high-technology companies in Silicon Valley, California, USA.
In addition, she serves as National Coordinator of Women in Nuclear (WiN Chile), where she actively promotes the role of women in the nuclear field.
