Holds a PhD in Sociology with a specialization in Geography from Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich, Germany. PhD in Environment and Society from the Rachel Carson Center, Munich, Germany.
An expert in social systems theory, her research focuses on the relationship between environment and society, particularly in the areas of water vulnerability, poverty and energy transitions, governance, and resilience to climate change.
