Session

The Hydrogen Path Toward 2035

Topic: Decarbonization
Session information

Latin America and the Caribbean are emerging as a strategic region for the development of green hydrogen, thanks to their ability to generate low-cost renewable energy. Countries such as Chile, Brazil, and Colombia are taking concrete steps with flagship projects that could transform their energy mix and open up new export opportunities. However, the path to a consolidated hydrogen industry faces significant challenges: limited port infrastructure, emerging regulatory frameworks, and the need to attract large-scale investment.
This session will seek to identify the conditions necessary for green hydrogen to become a competitive and sustainable reality in the region by 2035, exploring national experiences, critical bottlenecks, and opportunities for international cooperation. What international alliances, regulatory frameworks, and financing mechanisms are needed to accelerate the development of this emerging industry?
