The master class that will launch the course "Legislation for Energy Transitions in Latin America and the Caribbean" will be presented during Energy Week as the starting point of an OLACDE initiative, with Italian cooperation and the support of the Italo-Latin American International Organization (IILA), aimed at strengthening the role of the Legislative Branch in the region's energy transitions. This launch will bring together legislators and energy authorities to open a space for strategic dialogue on current challenges and the institutional capacities needed to support the sector's transformation. The course is consolidating itself as a regional platform to foster cooperation, share experiences, and promote modern approaches that contribute to stronger, more inclusive, and future-oriented regulatory frameworks.
The program offers a structured overview of the main components of the energy transition in the region, addressing energy systems, regulatory frameworks, and public policies that guide the sector's transformation. Through three complementary modules, the course delves into global trends, comparative legal models and strategies for decarbonization, energy efficiency and sustainable mobility, strengthening the technical and strategic capacities needed for parliaments to promote modern regulatory frameworks consistent with current challenges.
