Latin America and the Caribbean stands at a pivotal juncture in the global energy transition. The region holds some of the world’s most favorable structural conditions for energy leadership. Yet, despite a strong low-carbon baseline and enormous potential, progress on the energy transition remains stagnant and uneven. To help address this challenge, the World Economic Forum and OLADE have developed the Latin America and the Caribbean Energy Transition Readiness Assessment (LAC ETRA). Leveraging the Forum’s flagship Energy Transition Index, the assessment provides insights into the region’s energy systems' security, equity, and sustainability, as well as its readiness to drive transition advancement.
Co-hosted by OLADE and the World Economic Forum and taking place after the launch of the LAC ETRA, this invite-only roundtable will convene high-level regional and international energy leaders from government, industry, multilateral organizations and expert communities to discuss the findings and strategic questions laid out in the LAC ETRA.
