This meeting will bring together key stakeholders from the mining sector, government authorities, multilateral organizations, financial institutions, and civil society representatives to discuss the challenges and the role of formal mining in the current context, and to prepare the dialogue for the Business Council.
The discussion will (i) analyze the strategic role of mining in the supply of minerals, (ii) identify models for regional cooperation, (iii) promote sustainable practices that reduce the sector’s environmental footprint, and (iv) foster the exchange of successful experiences that strengthen the social, environmental, and financial legitimacy of mining projects in Latin America and the Caribbean.
