Certification has become a fundamental pillar to accelerate the energy transition in Latin America and the Caribbean, by guaranteeing the credibility of low-emission solutions and facilitating their integration into markets. These standards not only validate the quality of sustainable technologies and practices, but also boost access to financing, international competitiveness, and investor confidence. However, its implementation faces challenges in the region, from the harmonization of criteria to the technical capacity for its verification. This panel will explore how certification schemes can become key tools to attract capital to clean projects, promote technology transfer and adapt to innovations in the sector, all through collaboration between governments, companies and international organizations to ensure their transparency and effectiveness in a rapidly evolving energy market.
